Planning for your daughter’s first ski season? We reviewed Girls Skis for 2021 to help you make your decision. Read on to learn the Best Girls Skis for 2021.

If you are looking for information on sizing, you can find that here in: finding the perfect ski for your child.

Best 2021 Girls Ski for a 3-5 year old’s first season

Rossignol Experience Pro Girls skis are perfect for the lightest, youngest girl rippers in their first season.

These skis are designed for young, beginning skiers and have a remarkably tight turning radius of 4 meters. I have seen lots of kids learn successfully on these skis at our Ski Co-op, and Rossignol continues to improve these skis every year. Plus, I think the Girls top sheet graphics are cooler than the Boy’s version.

Pros:

  • Lightweight — 1.3 kilograms with bindings put these skis on the lighter weight side.
  • Aggressive sidecut — 104-72-96 measurements gives this ski excellent maneuverability and the tightest turning radius of any ‘little kids’ ski in 2021.
  • Large front shovel — this ski has the widest tip of all the ‘little kid’ skis in 2021, giving your daughter the ability to ski over small bumps and rolls without getting tripped up.

Cons:

  • These skis work really well for a girl’s first seasons, but their shape is not great for more advanced skiers They will not be a great fit in season 2 when you want to teach parallel skiing on steeper terrain.

Other Girls’ 2021 Ski Options (ranked by fit for newbies):

Atomic Vantage Girls 2021

Atomic Vantage Girls skis are a another solid 2021 girls ski option for our youngest first timers, especially if they are heavier or on the older side of the 3-5 year old spectrum.

Pros:

  • Cool graphics — Shades of Hot Pink — you cannot go wrong.
  • Light and maneuverable. These will be 10-15% lighter than the Rossignols, which can help with those walks from the lodge to the lift!

Cons:

  • Turning radius is 7 m, which makes it less maneuverable than the Rossignol Experience. This ski is slightly less maneuverable, but will provides more edge hold as your daughter progresses up the mountain.

Salomon QST Lux Jr 2021

The Salomon QST Lux is another solid girl’s 2021 ski option, although these skis might better suit for girls 5-8.

The QST Lux Jr excels in:

  • Control and maneuverability. Specifically, this is the only ski in 2021 for young girls that employs a Rocker – Camber – Rocker profile. This should provide your daughter with the ability to turn on a dime.
  • Hot Pink top sheet. I wish this wasn’t a key differentiation point, but I have seen it to work as a strong motivation tool.
  • The tip protector is a really nice feature as ski tips get really beat up by young skiers. Additionally, the added width in the tip may help reduce crossed skis.
  • Similarly wider turning radius to the Atomic Vantage (7m), which enables this ski to move with your daughter up the mountain further than the Rossignol Experience can.

Cons:

  • I have not seen these specific skis in action on our mountain, so I don’t have good experience watching young skiers on the Rocker – Camber – Rocker profile by Salomon.

Volkl Chica 2021

The Volkl Chica skis look a lot like a hybrid of the Atomic and Rossignol skis. They look very cool, and have a slightly shorter turn radius than the Atomic Vantage skis. Looking at the shape of these skis, they have less side cut than skis like the Rossignols or Atomics, which means they are likely better suited for skiers who are 5-8 years old, or who are on their second season of skiing.

Overall – Best 2021 Girls’ Skis

Any of these choices would be a great Best Girl’s Ski for your 2021 season. I’d recommend you choose the lightest and nimblest option, but each of these companies have put significant effort into designing young-child-specific skis.

While these skis are marketed as ‘girls’ skis, there is absolutely no problem with crossovers. Stickers can be your friend here so you can trick your skis out to make them unique on the ski rack and attractive to your young skier. Or, you can take a look at the Best Boys Skis of 2021 here:
