Best Boys Skis of 2021 — Kids Ski Review

Planning to buy new skis this season for your young skier? We reviewed Boys Skis from 2021 to help you make your decision. Read on to learn the Best Boys Skis for 2021.

If you are looking for information on sizing, you can find that here in: finding the perfect ski for your child.

Best 2021 Boys Ski for youngest skiers’ first season

Rossignol’s Experience Pro skis are perfect for the lightest, youngest skiers in their first season.

These skis are designed for the youngest skiers and have a remarkably tight turning radius of 4 meters. I have seen lots of kids learn successfully on these skis at our Ski Co-op, and Rossignol continues to improve these skis every year.

Pros:

  • Lightweight — 1.3 kilograms with bindings put these skis on the lighter weight side.
  • Aggressive sidecut — 104-72-96 measurements gives this ski excellent maneuverability and the tightest turning radius of any ‘little kids’ ski in 2021.
  • Large front shovel — this ski has the widest tip of all the ‘little kid’ skis in 2021, giving your child the ability to ski over small bumps and rolls without getting tripped up.

Cons:

  • These skis work really well for your child’s first season but their shape is not great for more advanced skiers and they will not edge hold you will want to teach parallel skiing on steeper terrain.

Other 2021 Boys Ski Options (ranked by fit for newbies):

Atomic Redster Boys 2021

Pros:

  • Lightest weight: at only 1.1 kg with bindings, these skis are even lighter and easier to carry than the Rossignol Experience Pros.
  • Cool graphics that look fast and will be easily seen in a ski rack

Cons:

  • Turning radius is 7 m, which makes it less maneuverable than the Rossignol Experience. This makes the ski a little less maneuverable, but provides more edge hold as your skier progresses up the mountain.

Salomon QST Max Jr Boys 2021

The 2021 QST Max Jr Boys does a good job designing for a students’ first season.

The QST Max Jr excels in:

  • Build for control and maneuverability. Specifically, this is the only ski in 2021 for the youngest kids that employs a Rocker – Camber – Rocker profile. This should provide your son with the ability to turn on a dime.
  • The tip protector is a really nice feature as ski tips get really beat up by young skiers. Additionally, the added width in the tip may help reduce crossed skis.
  • Similarly wider turning radius to the Atomic Redster (7m), which enables this ski to move with your son up the mountain further than the Rossignol Experience can.

Cons:

  • I haven’t seen these in action on our mountain, so I don’t have good experience watching young skiers on the Rocker – Camber – Rocker profile by Salomon.

K2 Indy Skis Boys 2021

I don’t have as much information yet on the K2 Indy skis yet, but everything I have read shows that these skis will be very similar to the Salomon QST Max Jr in terms of design and goals. They have very similar measurements, camber profile, and descriptions. I would start exploring these skis for my child in their second season. I have seen the new orange camo top sheet and it looks cool.
